    Unfortunately my review is based off the lack of service we have been provided and the lack of follow up due to a mismanagement of their business. On March 7th my husband and I set a same day appointment to meet with Julie Michelin at 7pm at the Geneva Rd, Winfield, IL location. Their website and brick and mortar both show that walk in appointments are available, but we were able to book an appointment with a confirmation number and believed we were set. Imagine our surprise when we arrived to complete our taxes and Julie was no where to be found. The only employee in the office was a young gentleman who was already assisting customers looked completely gobsmacked when we walked in stating we had an appointment. Apparently Julie was long gone for the day. He attempted to call her and I believe Mike (they are married I believe) in which we were told “She’s out by Randall Rd right now and isn’t coming back”, instead of offering to take our names to try to remedy the situation he suggested we go to another H&R Block down the road. Frustrating to say the least. My husband and I both work full time jobs, and have limited evening availability. We don’t have time for these games and when you state that you are open till 9pm and offer booking online same day AND walk in appointments, it doesn’t seem like a viable option to only have one individual working. Beware of when the schedule picks up closer to Tax Day, you may be stood up as well. I understand mistakes happen, computer glitches happen, why Julie wasn’t aware of our appointment - we don’t know... but that’s the ultimate problem. Days later and we still don’t know why this occurred. There has been zero follow up to fix the situation. Upon leaving the office we called into the 800# to file a complaint, our customer service rep was very understanding and filed the claim and stated that she was “sending this to Leadership for coaching and review and we’d be contacted in 2-3 days”. 2-3 days later and nothing, not a call from Julie apologizing and not a call from someone from H&R Block regarding our complaint. Nothing is more frustrating than attempting to give a business money for their services and not being able to due to their negligence. Good luck to those that use this office, hope you don’t get stood up as we did- and we’ll be taking our business elsewhere.
